We are proud to present Allandale Avenue, North London. A renovation and extension of a 3-storey family home with basement, roof and side additions, landscape redesign and sustainable future-proofing.
A thoughtful transformation of an existing three-storey family home to accommodate the needs of a busy household with four children. The project reimagines the spatial flow across all levels, introduces generous extensions, and reconnects the interior with its garden setting to support everyday living and flexibility.
At the heart of the home, the ground floor is opened up into an expansive kitchen, dining and informal living space. A sculptural spiral staircase provides a dynamic connection down to the basement level, which has been reconfigured to include a versatile family space and home office with direct access to the garden, and a self-contained au pair suite — reinforcing both privacy and connectivity.
The first floor is organised around five bedrooms, two family bathrooms and a dedicated laundry room, balancing shared and private spaces for the family. Above, a new roof extension accommodates a generous master suite and a private study, giving both retreat and prospect over the garden.
Externally, a full garden renovation enhances curb side appeal and creates a sequence of outdoor spaces for play, relaxation and social gatherings. Wistful planting, generous lawn areas and purposeful outdoor zones extend daily life into the landscape.
The design integrates sustainable measures including high-performance solar panels and provision for a future air source heat pump, anticipating future energy needs and environmental performance.
Carefully composed natural light, materiality and spatial flow guide the experience throughout the house, ensuring the home feels welcoming, adaptable and well suited to family life over time.
